Volunteer Library Box Painting

In News by Matthew1 Comment

Sound Painting Solutions recently completed a volunteer painting project for the Grievers Library organization in Seattle. Grievers Library provides free books to bereaved individuals – children, teens and adults – in book boxes across the community. We donated the painting for three of their upcoming boxes. Each book box is stocked with a curated assortment of 50 free, grief-related books for people who have experienced a difficult time in their lives. The books are written by professionals and grievers alike. In this blog, we’re going to showcase the process of prepping and painting the book boxes.

Boxes Before Painting

These are what the boxes looked like before painting. There were labels indicating the desired color scheme. All the surfaces are unpainted wood which needed to be appropriately prepped before painting.

Prep Process

Our co-owner Jeff helped out with the preparation work for the project. Applying tape to mask off the different areas was necessary for painting the boxes in a two color scheme. Also, prior to painting the raw wood Jeff sprayed a coat of primer to ensure the paint would adhere.

Painting Process

Our painters brush and rolled two coats of paint to the book boxes. These boxes were hand painted to ensure a precise and high quality finish. All of the boxes on the outside were painted purple and the insides white.

Finished Boxes

In the business world, it’s easy to get caught up in the financial numbers. However, it’s important to remember that true success revolves around the positive impact we have on our community and the lives of those around us. Volunteering to paint these library book boxes was a valuable experience for us, which reinforced our commitment to giving back.

We hope that our story inspires others in the business world to find their own unique ways to make a difference. Whether it’s through volunteering, supporting local initiatives, or simply spreading kindness, every effort helps towards building a stronger, more compassionate community. When we paint with a purpose, we create a more colorful and meaningful world for everyone.
